Treasury Bonds
Treasury bonds pay a fixed rate of interest every six months until they mature.
They are issued in a term of 30 years.
You can buy Treasury bonds from us in TreasuryDirect. You also can buy them through a bank or broker.
(We no longer sell bonds in Legacy Treasury Direct, which we are .)
You can hold a bond until it matures or sell it before it matures.

Bonds pay interest every six months until they mature.
When a bond matures, the owner is paid the face value of the bond.

CMA考试专有名词——collateral bond与treasury bond的比较
很多学员在备考CMA考试中会很容易混淆collateral bond与treasury bond，现将两者的区别为大家一一列出。
　　collateral bond 抵押品担保债券，动产担保债券指公司债券的发行是以动产作为抵押品。通常是将抵押品转移到受托人(trustee)手中。因而，亦称抵押品担保信托债券(collateral-trust bond)。
　　treasury bond 缩写为 T-bond。指由美国政府发行的长期债券。面值为 <span style="color: #ff 万美元，期限长达10 年，以息票支付利息。
　　CMA考试中常常要求考生判定各类证券的风险大小，相比较来说由于T-bond是国家信用，尽管没有抵押物，在各类中长期债券中，风险仍然是最小的，而Collateral bond相比较unsecured bond风险更小，但是unsecured bond相比较convertible bond的话，风险更小，因为后者具有潜在的转换为股票的可能性，若转换为股票以后就失去了债券的属性，风险程度会大大增加。
